"It's Great to Skate Clinic"
23 January 2012, 6:00-7:30 PM
The "It's great to Skate" clinic welcomes potential skaters to a day of skill instruction and development, education and motivation. The clinic will allow young and old to experience figure skating and learn the basics from a professional instructors in a fun-filled environment.
Sign-in and registration will begin promptly at 6:00pm. Skaters will then purchase rental skates if needed. There will be a brief discussion about proper equipment, explaining skates, what to look for, how to lace, proper fit etc. Skaters will be placed into groups according to skating ability and past experience.
Skaters will then be escorted to the ice for an On-ice lesson from 6:30 to 7:00pm. Lesson will be conducted by an experienced Basic Skills Instructor using the USFS (United States Figure Skating) Basic Skills instruction program.
Once your lesson has concluded each skater is invited to remain on the ice for an open skate in which the instructors will also remain on the ice for some "fun time."
During the skater instruction time, parents are invited to join a Basic Skills staff member that will provide education regarding the Basic Skills program at the Cleveland Heights recreation center, as well as answer any questions you may have.
